The reason of researcher in taking the title “Analysis of Characters Building Existing in Narrative Reading Text at the Eleventh Grade Students of Man 2 Pamekasan on character Education definition perspective is because, she has inspiring to the new curriculum in Indonesia and also the researcher want to know do the writer of students work-sheet implement new curriculum is about the character Education to the students work sheet or not.
Talking about character building, it is related with our curriculum. So, the researcher here do a research which is focused on “what are the values of character building existing in narrative reading text and “how to show character building existing in narrative text.
This study is to identify the values of character building existing in narrative text and to analyze the show of character building existing in narrative text on students work-sheet. This study is qualitative approach and type of research uses content analysis. The data collection procedure that used in this study are observation and documentation.
To make an easy research, the researcher tries to collect values of character building step by step gotten from students work-sheet on narrative reading text. That data will be documented in this research. In analyzing the data, the researcher analyzes all text in students work-sheet about narrative text.
After doing analysis, finally, the researcher found nine kinds of values character building on students work-sheet in narrative reading text. They are religious, discipline, hardwork, creative, responsible to performance, care to society, honest, friendly/communicative, and responsible. They are present implicitly in the text.
Base on the result above the values of character building is exist in students work-sheet. It show that the writer of students work sheet really made the work-sheet suitable with the new curriculum. So, the researcher hope to the students especially in Man 2 Pamekasan in order to pay attention to the new curriculum that is definited by the goverment.
