THE SOCIAL PROBLEM IN BOB DYLAN’S SONG ALBUM IN SOEJONO SOEKANTO’S PERSPECTIVE

Key word: Literature, Song, and Social Problem
There are some reasons that influence the writer analyzes Bob Dylan’s song. First, his song tell us the social problem that are very interesting. Second, his song always contain social critic. In this study, the researcher analyzes the social problem based on Soejono Soekanto’s perspectives, which are applied in nine of Bob Dylan’s song. They are, Political World, the House of the Risin’ Sun, and Man on the Street, Cocaine Blues, Hurricane, Sara, Disease of Conceit, Master of War, and Talking World War III Blues.
The focus of the study are there any social problems in Bob Dylan’song and how is the social problems in Bob Dylan’s song in Soejono Soekanto’s perspective and giving descriptive explanations on how social problems used in Bob Dylan’s song.
The objective of the research is finding the social problems in Bob Dylan’s song and analyze the social problems in Bob Dylan’s song in Soejono Soekanto’s perspective.
The approach of this study is qualitative while the research method applied in this study is descriptive research; by using this the writer describes the data in the form of words. The data is taken from nine songs of Bob Dylan’s song mentioned above. And the instrument used in the study is the researcher himself. He has searched, collected, and read the data that contain social problem then analyze them in detail about the social problem in Bob Dylan’s song in Soejono Soekanto’s perspective.
The result of the analysis are some findings that related to the social problem; economic factor, psychologist factor, and cultural factor. The social problems found mostly use to express Bob Dylan ideas. The song of Bob Dylan is mostly about social problem that contain justice, love, unity, peace and respect, the social problem is related to moral and social values.
