The Effect of Bilingual Teacher's Talk on Student's Mastery Speaking Skill in seventh grade of SMPN 4 Pamekasan

There are four skills in English languages that are speaking, writ-ing, reading and listening. But, the most important in English languages is speaking that is to measure English language skill of someone. Speaking is ability of transferring message by communicating and interacting with other and can involve two or more people using correct pronunciation, stress and intonation. Speaking reach by vocabularies, words, sentences. It is the reason of bilingual teacher's talk make the students improve in their speaking and also make class effectively.
The problems of this research there are two. The first "Is there any effects of biligual teacher's talk on student’s speaking skill in seventh grade of SMPN 4 Pamekasan?" the second is "What significance does the bilingual teacher’s talk on student’s speaking skill in seventh grade of SMPN 4 Pamekasan?".This research is conducted to find out the effect of bilingual teacher’s talk on student’s speaking skill in seventh grade of SMPN 4 Pamekasan and to identify how significance bilingual teacher’s talk on student’s speaking skill in seventh grade of SMPN 4 Pamekasan.
Design of this research is quantitative with non-experimental. The population of this research is the students of SMPN 4 Pamekasan of 2011/2012 academic year containing 228 students because the population number is too large, researcher take sample uses cluster sampling. C class is decided as the sample that is 38 students. The instruments which were used in conducting this research were questionnaire and documentation. Questionnaire was to obtain the data related to variable X (bilingual teacher's talk) as independent variable. Researcher uses spearman brown formula to know the reliabilities of this questionnaire. While documentation was to obtain the data related to variable Y (student's speaking skill) as dependent variable. The researcher collected the data from 13 April to 01 May. Data analysis technique that researcher used was statistical analysis by using product moment formula.
The result of this research shows that there is effect of bilingual teacher's talk on student's speaking skill in seventh grade of SMPN 4 Pamekasan and the effect is sufficient/enough significance. It is proven after knowing the result of statistical analysis that shows that “r” value is 0,440. It is more than ‘r-table’ in “significance level” 5% and 1% with N 38. The values are 0,320 and 0,413. Then the researcher com-pared it with table of interpretation “r” product moment. It is between interval 0,40-0,70 with sufficient/enough interpretation.
