English as an international language that use with all of people in this world, it frequently used in communication and also in learning English. One important aspect of learning english is speaking, speaking skill is one of important thing to be studied especially for students who studied an english language as their foreign language. Therefore the perpose of the students who studied English as their foreign language is how they can communicate each other by using the foreign language they have learned. In speaking english students also have some problems, one of that problem is about pronunciation, most of students can not pronunciate their English speaking well, because sometimes it still influenced by their mother tongue is Madurese.
For reason above the researcher interested in analyzing the research focus as “What kind of Madurese aspect influence the eighth grade students of MTs. Miftahul Ulum Pamolaan Camplong? How the Madurese aspect influence the eighth grade students of MTs. Miftahul Ulum Pamolaan Camplong ?”. According to the research focus above, the objective of study are “To find out the kind of Madurese aspect influence the eighth grade students of MTs. Miftahul Ulum Pamolaan Camplong , to know and identify how the Madurese aspect influence eighth grade students of MTs. Miftahul Ulum Pamolaan Camplong”.
This study will describe through of qualitative approach with descriptive research. In collecting the data the researcher used some techniques such as observation, interview, and documentation. The interview was done to the teacher and the students, and the observation was conducted on April 2012. The documentation collected such as picture and video. Then after that the researcher collected the data, she analyzed it through data analyzing procedure as follow : data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing and verification.
There are some aspects that influenced students English pronunciation, such as madurese as a mother tongue, the level of madurese, and the Madurese intonation. The Madurese as mother tongue for seven grade students because Madurese language isthe firstlanguagethey know andlearn, so it influenced the way they pronunce the English. The second aspect is the level of Madurese, the Madurese level often appear when they use English language is enja’-iye level, for instance when they say yes in English, they pronunciate it by say iyyes, like when they say iyye in Madurese, or when they say no in English, they pronunciate it by say enno.
