The Influence of Speaking English Club on the Student’s English Achievement at the Eighth Grade of MTs Sabilil Muttaqin Panaguan Larangan Pamekasan.

Speaking English is one of important skill in English language learning, but to make a student’s speaking English not so easy and that involves student’s ideas into the speaking English language. One of the ways to makes all of the students speak is increase students ability of speaking mastery, concluded the students club. English language is not the nationally language in Indonesia, but studying English must be done by the student’s to increase the global knowledge in the world.
There is one of problem at this research, the researcher want to know whether there is or not the influence of speaking club on the student’s English achievement at eighth grade of MTs. Sabilil Muttaqin, Larangan, Pamekasan.
This study applied quantitative research, which the data analyzed by using the statistical procedures. This research is a correlation research that involves variable X as independent variable (speaking club) and variable Y as dependent variable (student’s achievement). The subject of this research is the student’s at the eighth grade of MTs. Sabilil Muttaqin, Larangan, Pamekasan, with the count of students are 22 students. The instrument of documentation that is used to collect the data related to variable X and variable Y. Variable X which is the students score speaking, variable Y which is the student’s English achievement in the class. Observation is used to support the documentation to get valid the data.
The result of this study is there is the influence of speaking club that has significant influence on the student’s English achievement at the eighth grade of MTs. Sabilil Muttaqin, Larangan, Pamekasan. At speaking club the teacher gave some topics to know how significant at the students English achievement at the class that has appropriate with the students background knowledge that make the students interested in English learning program. The statement above supported by the result of research that is proven with the comparison “r-recount” = 0,75 is higher than “r-table” in significant level 5%= 0,423 and 1%= 0,537 when consulted with the interpretation or product moment, “r-count” is in 0,70-0,90 with the enough interpretation.
Finally, based on the finding is suggested that the English teacher expected to give speaking club practice to increase students speaking skill, and the teacher should use the variation topic that appropriate for the students, so that they are more interested in English lesson.
