English language is an important the role communication to interact directly. As a means of global communication, English should be actively controlled by both oral and written. In this case the role of English is needed both in controls and communication technology to interact directly. Many feel the media can stimulate understanding in the classroom, while it is important for student to junior high school teaching and learning Using audio visual media, because by using audio visual the student can be motivation, achievement to learn English language.
Using audio visual media there are many effect for student RSBI SMPN 1 Pamekasan, by using audio visual media English teaching aids can be increase the teachers’ activity in their teaching activities and help the student to study English easily, they help to solve the limited place, time, sense, spirit,and motivation.
In this research, the researcher used quantitative research approach. Instrument by the research are observation, interview, test and documentation. The population that will be researched is the nine grade of RSBI SMPN 1 Pamekasan periods 2011/ 2012, and the total number of population is 90 student that divided into three class.This research doesn’t use the sample becausethe total number of population is 90 students.
Based on the research above can be conclude that using audio visualmedia on student achievement in learning English for the ninth grade at RSBI SMPN 1 Pamekasan the result of data analysis and hypothesis test that showed the experiment class has higher mean value than control class. The mean value of experiment class is 88. 000 and the control class is 85. 633. while the critical value in df t_table 50, on 1% 2,68 and 5% is 2,01t_value1760. 118, So (2,68 2,01) whereas in df t_table 60, on 1% 2,65 and 5% 2,00 t_value1760. 118, So (2,65 2,65). So the t_value is higher thant_table.
