The Effect of Singing Song Strategy on Young Learners’ English Vocabulary Mastery at TK Al-Islah Bandaran Tlanakan Pamekasan

Vocabulary is important element in the acquisition of second language. Mastering vocabulary can make the students easy to studying English. To make students enjoying in studying English the teacher need some strategy to teach the students, especially in learning vocabulary to young learners. One of strategy is using singing song strategy.
There are two kinds of problem in this research. First: Are there the effect of using singing song strategy on young learners' English vocabulary mastery at TK Al-Islah Bandaran Tlanakan Pamekasan, and Second: Are there any significant influences of using singing song strategy on young learners' English vocabulary mastery at TK Al-Islah Bandaran Tlanakan Pamekasan. While the objectives of this study, First; To know the effect of using singing song strategy on young learners' English vocabulary mastery at TK Al-Islah Bandaran Tlanakan Pameksan, Second; To identify the significant of using singing song strategy on young learners' English vocabulary mastery at TK Al-Islah Bandaran Tlanakan Pamekasan.
This research uses quantitative approach; while the kind of research which the researcher used is discriptive correlation with non-experimental research. The population of this research is the A class and B class students of TK Al-Islah Bandaran Tlanakan Pamekasan in academic year of 2011/2012 containing 36 students. The instruments that are used in collecting data are questionnaire, test, and documentation. Data analysis technique that used is statistical analysis by using product moment.
The result of this research shows that the using of singing song strategy give influence on young learners' English vocabulary mastery at TK Al-Islah bandaran Tlanakan Pamekasan. It was proven by using statistical analysis shows that the value of ‘r value’ statistical was 0.566 higher than “r” (table of coefficient value of correlation “r” product moment) in significant level of 5%=0.329 and in significant level of 1%=0,424 (r11≥ rt). And it is also proven when "r value” is consulted to interpretation "r" product moment, where the value of "r value" is between 0,40-0,70 with sufficient or enough interpretation.
Based on the rsult above, the reseacher concludes that the using singing song strategy should be continued as one of English teaching strategy. Its can make the students interest and active to teach English and can make the students more aesy to mastering vocabulary.
