An Analysis of Students' Ability in Writing Descriptive Texts at the Eightgrade of Junior High School An Nusyur Aeng Panas Pragaan Sumenep

Descriptive text is a type of factual text that describes a particular person, place or thing. Description text aims to tell about the object through a description of its features, without including personal opinion. Descriptive text itself in English is often used in writing lessons and is a sub-material.
There are two objectives in this research as an effort to solve a problem. The first is to find out how students' abilities in writing descriptive texts in eighthgrade An Nusyur Aeng Panas Pragaan Sumenep. Furthermore, the second is to find out the difficulties of students in writing descriptive texts at Junior High School An Nusyur Aeng Panas Pragaan Sumenep.
In this study used qualitative research. And the data is descriptive in nature because it is necessary to describe the difficulties in writing descriptive texts in the eighthgrade of Junior High School An Nusyur Aeng Panas Pragaan Sumenep. There students can and are able to overcome these difficulties in a way the teacher must overcome these problems by paying attention to the methods used and the abilities of each student.
The finding of this study found that students' difficulties occurred from several factors, the most common of which was that students lacked interest in learning English. Besides in the end it was successful, by proving that using descriptive text students could practice writing and constructing sentences in their writing. Before understanding descriptive text and how to make it, in the end they begin to understand according to their respective conditions. In accordance with the teacher's suggestions to increase the learning potential of these students or by providing new methods and facilitating them with learning methods that make them not feel bored.
For English teachers to present material by making students prefer the way the material is presented with the aim that students can understand what is conveyed by the teacher in order to make students more competent.
