Analysis of Teacher’s Strategies in Teaching Reading Comprehension at MA Miftahul Ulum Bettet Pamekasan 2022

Understanding In the world of education, strategy is defined as a plan, method, or series of activities designed to achieve a particular educational goal. Learning strategy can be interpreted as a plan that contains a series of activities designed to achieve educational goals. This study was raised due to problem in learning reading. The reasearchers saw that teachers and students experience certains in the learning process. The problem is when studenat do not understand the content of the reading because student only learn to translate word by word and do not understand the contents of the reading.There are several kinds of reading comprehension strategies namely, active reading, critical text and guessing strategies.
There are two research focuses in this study. The first is, what strategies do English teachers provide for their own students in learning reading comprehension. The second is the use of any strategies used by English teachers in teaching reading comprehension.
This type of research is qualitative research, namely research that describes, tells and interprets existing data and produces deep descriptive datain the form of written and behavior that can be observed and the data is a statement. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique is descriptive qualitative.
The results showed that the strategy teacher in teaching reading comprehension for eleventh grade students at MA Miftahul Ulum Bettet Pamekasan used three strategies, namely; active reading, and guess, from this strategy, it can be concluded that the use of strategies can helps students in understanding reading comprehension and can also enrich student vocabulary. Besides in addition, students also feel motivated and more active in learning reading done.
