A Study on Popular 4.0 Teaching Media Used by English Teachers at SMPN 1 Pamekasan

This thesis discusses the study on popular 4.0 teaching media used by
English teachers at SMPN 1 Pamekasan. This study aims to find outthe popular
teaching media that used by English teachers and the advantages and
disadvantages of teaching media that used by English teachers at SMPN 1
Pamekasan.
In this research, the researcher used qualitative as the approach of the
research and qualitative descriptive as design of research. The data source of
this research is English teachers at SMPN 1 Pamekasan. In collecting the data,
the researcher uses two procedures, those are interview and documentation. In
this research, researcher use semi- structured interview in collecting the data
because it easier for the researcher to ask the question and questions can be
asked randimly, even new questions are allowed, also provide space for the
researcher to ask any questions if they are in line with the established topic. For
getting the data, the researcher used triangulation of data source and
triangulation of data collection technique.
After conducting the research, the researcher found that English teachers
used realia, flashcards, smartphone as teaching media in class.Most of English
teachers at SMPN 1 Pamekasan used realia as teaching media in the classroom.
Even tough the use of media in class will greatly assist the teachers in conveying
the learning material in class, there will still be it’s own weakness in each
teaching media that used by English at SMPN 1 Pamekasan in class. Therefore,
choosing the right teaching media as an intermediary in conveying subject
matter in the classroom is important for teachers.
