The Obstacles of Using Story Telling in Theaching Speaking at Seventh Grade of SMPI Nurul Islam PangongseanSampang

Speaking is to communicate directly between speaker and listener about
something and by speaking we can express ideas or feelings. Because speaking is
one of the habits of conveying language in the form of conversation.
There are three problems in this research. The first, how is the teaching
speaking process using storytelling at seventh grade of SMPI Nurul Islam
PangongseanSampang. The second, what are the obstacles of teaching speaking
using storytelling at seventh grade of SMPI Nurul Islam PangongseanSampang.
The third, how does the teacher overcome the obstacles in teaching speaking using
storytelling at seventh grade of SMPI Nurul Islam Pangongsean Sampang.
In this research used qualitative approach. In collecting data, the researcher
was present directly in the teaching process in the classroom, interview the teacher,
and made documentation by taking pictures of teaching and learning activities.
Based on observation and interview with teachers, the finding of research
conducted by researchers are that the use of storytelling in teaching speaking to
seventh grade students of SMPI Nurul Islam Pangongsean Sampang. The teacher
prepares the lesson plan (RPP), the teacher prepares the story text, the teacher shows
and tells, from explanation above, the teacher also faced obstacles the use of
storytelling in teaching speaking activities. a) the teacher finds the students pay less
attention b) the teacher need long time to fluently in pronounce. However, the
teacher overcomes obstacles during the use of storytelling in teaching speaking
activities. a) the teachers asked the student who don’t pay attention to reviewing
about the material. b) the teacher gives guidance.
Based on the findings of the study, the researcher can conclude of the use
of storytelling in the seventh grade of SMPI Nurul Islam Pangongsean Sampang.
That the use of storytelling is successful and makes students active in speaking,
besides that researchers also get conclusions from the obstacles faced by teachers
in teaching speaking using storytelling, teachers find students who pay less
attention, teachers take a long time to pronunciation well. From the explanation
above the teacher asked the student reviewing about the material to attention, the
teacher controls the time directing students to pronounce well
