The Use Scrabble Game To Teach Vocabulary At The First Grade Students Of MTs Al-Huda Lembung Barat Lenteng Sumenep
Key word: Vocabulary, Game, Scrabble Game.
Learning English is difficult of some students, even some of them said that they did not
like learning English. The use of appropriate learning strategy and learning media can help them
in receiving lesson that delivered by their teacher, such as with the use of Scrabble Game in
language learning especially English.
There are two problems in this study. The first one is how does the teacher implement
scrabble game in teaching vocabulary at the first grade students of Mts Al-Huda Lembung Barat
Lenteng Sumenep. And the second problem of this study is how do the student’s response toward
the use scrabble game in teaching vocabulary at the first grade students of Mts Al-Huda
Lembung Barat Lenteng Sumenep.
In this study the researcher used qualitative research so, researcher will describe the used
of Scrabble game to teach vocabulary at the first grade of MTs Al-Huda Lembung Barat Lenteng
Sumenep. The data of this study taken three times and obtained after doing observation,
interview, and take some of documentation during teaching learning process. Then the data
analyzed with the qualitative research procedure based on methodological research.
The result of this study is the use of scrabble game to teach vocabulary at the first grade
students of MTs Al-Huda Lembung Barat Lenteng Sumenep be said to be successful because
when using this game to applying material the students look very enjoy and happy, comfortable,
energetic and understand the vocabulary that delivered by the teacher that they get easily. The
teacher make preparation before she teach and applying scrabble game based on her own rule but
she also take references from the expert of scrabble game, in teaching learning process to make
the class more effective she make her student to work for teams. The teacher explain clearly
enough so the students can understand the material that delivered by teacher well and seen
students obey the rules given. It can knowing also from the students response some students have
similar opinion about applying scrabble game in their class, they feel easily understand and
memorizing vocabulary that delivered by teacher.
