Factors Affecting the Highest A Class Speaking Mastery: A Study at Branch of Fan of English Course Banyuanyar Islamic Boarding School
Keywords: Factors Affecting, Speaking Mastery. There are two factors affecting English speaking mastery, cognitive
and affective factors, teachers have many strategies in teaching English
speaking, namely presentation and discussion. Speaking mastery has many
factors, such as memorizing vocabulary, self-confidence, and giving
motivations. There are two research focuses in this study. The first, how is the
speaking teaching learning process at Highest A class Branch of Fan of
English Course. The second, what are the factors affecting the speaking
mastery at Highest A class Branch of Fan of English Course. It aims to
describe the strategies apply in teaching English speaking and what are the
factors affecting English speaking mastery. The researcher used a qualitative approach with a type of descriptive
research. Researcher obtained data from observation, interviews, and
documentation. The research informants ware students who study at Highest
A class Branch of Fan of English Course and teachers of Branch of Fan of
English Course. Based on the results of research, the researcher found that there are
many strategies carried out by teachers in teaching English speaking, namely
presentation, discussion, teacher try their best strategies for their students to
master English speaking. There are many factors affecting speaking mastery, such as memorizing vocabulary, self-confidence, and giving motivations. memorizing vocabulary is very important for all people who learn a language
to understand and improve vocabularies because the more vocabulary we
know the better we can understand the meaning of the words, self-confidence
will provide studentss motivation and energy for becoming positive about
students’ own learning, giving motivation is something different and it cannot
be seen, but there is a psychologicalconstruct; behavior or effort, attitudes, interest and values or desire. Based on the results above, it can be drawn a conclusion for teachers
to have strategies in teaching English speaking, many factors affecting
students’ English speaking
