The Effectiveness of Online Learning Method on Students’ Speaking Skills at Islamic Boarding School Puteri Khadijah Pamekasan Academic Year 2019
At the end of January 2020, the World Health Organization has declared the
Covid-19 pandemic worldwide. This situation forces activities that tend to be busy
to be stopped immediately, including teaching and learning activities in schools
and lectures. Then the learning process, which had been carried out as usual, was
carried out online. The development of digital technology has a major influence
on education. Especially in oral-based learning such as Speaking. Therefore, in
this study, researchers will research about is there any differences before and after
using online learning methods on the students speaking skills at the Islamic
Boarding School Puteri Khadijah Pamekasan academic year 2019 which consists
of 20 students. The researcher uses an experimental research design with a
quantitative approach, and the data collected will be calculated using the SPSS 20
application. The design of this research is an experimental study using one group
pretest-posttest. The results of data analysis and hypothesis testing have been
carried out, and it can be concluded that there is differences before and after using
online learning method on students speaking skills at Islamic Boarding School
Puteri Khadijah Pamekasan Academic Year 2019. This is evidenced by the results
of data analysis that the t test value (2.549) is higher than t table at a significant
level of 5% (2.10).
