The Morphological Analysis Of Jargon On Pandemic Era Found In Websites,

Pandemic has created a lot of new jargons that are never or rarely existed
before. That is why this research was conducted with the formulation of problems
are how is the morphological analysis of jargon on pandemic era found in websites
and what are the meaning of each jargon on pandemic era. The aim of this research
are to know the morphological analysis of jargon on pandemic era that found in
websites and the meaning of jargon on pandemic era.
This research is using qualitative approach that kind of this study includes
to library research. The data sources was obtained through documentation from
websites like The Jakarta Post, The Washington Post, New York Times, CNN, and
BBC. For the data analysis of this study used content analysis which refers to the
news texts on digital websites. Checking validity of the data is done through
triangulation, especially data triangulation.
The results of this research indicate that there are 40 jargons on pandemic
era that found in websites. Where for the morphological analysis of each jargon on
pandemic era consist of: 1 jargons are blending, 6 jargons include acronyms, 6
jargons are compounding, 2 jargons includes to derivational affixes, 5 jargons
includes to inflectional affixes, and 20 jargons are multiple processes. For the
meaning of each jargon on pandemic era, it was obtained from Oxford dictionary
for lexical meaning, and pandemic books and journal for the contextual meaning. It
can be concluded that there are various morphological analysis that occur in the
jargon of pandemic era. But for the majority is in the multiple process that consist
of two or more morphological analysis in one jargon on pandemic era. For the
benefit of this research in the future are this research can be an additional references
for Morphology’s subject, especially about morphological analysis of derivational
inflectional affixes and it can increase student’s vocabulary or people’s knowledge
related with jargon on pandemic era.
