An Analysis of the Student's Difficulty in Learning English : A Case Study on Wrong Major Student in Taking English Education at Islamic Institute of Madura

Learning English is still quite difficult to understand this is due to the
complexity of the material in learning English so that many children learning
English are unable to achieve it, but not all children who learn English have
difficulty, this depends on who is studying, this case study aims to help the case of
students who are in the wrong major so that they have difficulty in learning
English and try to describe the problems of learning English so that the
researchers decided to make the Research focus as follows 1. What are the
learning difficulties experienced by wrong major student in learning English 2.
What factors caused learning difficulties experienced by wrong major student in
learning English 3. How to solves the learning difficulties experienced by wrong
major student in learning English. This research method uses descriptive
qualitative in the form of case studies.
This research method uses descriptive qualitative in the form of case
studies. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, documentation.
So that it can produce data in the form of words to describe or explain in a
systematic, factual, and accurate manner about the facts from the observed data
sources.
The results of the research the researcher found that the difficulties
experienced by case subject when he is studying English is he had difficulty
conveying the material which he was studying because he did not understand the
material and also he could not respond or answer questions so that he chooses to
stay in class because he can't collaborate with his friends. The factor causing him
difficulty is because he does not have basic knowledge and preparation in English
and he is not diligent in learning English he is like frustrated in learning English.
So that the assistance given to the subject of the case is that the researcher
conducts mentoring by providing basic English material such as part of speech
and several tenses and providing motivation to be more active in learning English.
