A Study of Figurative Language and Its Educational Value in Surah Al-Kahf (60-82) of Aljamil Qur’an English Translation

Figurative language is language that shift meaning from the primary
meaning of words. Figurative language is the use of language in unusual or
imaginative meaning. Besides, there also educational value to understand and
practice. Educational value describes how education has a great values to human.
Al-Quran is the guide holy book for Muslim. Al-Qur’an is the language of God that
contained some implicit explanation that written in commentary of the Qur’an. To
develop the science of Qur’an, Muslim can learn from any aspects, like
understanding the figurative language, educational value, commentary, or the
meaning of the main language used by the reader.
In this context, Al-Kahf is one of Surah that contains figurative language
and its educational value that everyone need to know, especially Muslim. In this
research, there are two research focus becoming the main idea in this research, first:
How are the kinds of figurative language described in Surah Al-Kahf (verse 60-82)
of Aljamil Quran English Translation, the second: How are the educational values
discussed in Surah Al-Kahf (verse 60-82) of Aljamil Quran English Translation of
Aljamil Al-Quran English translation.
This research using qualitative descriptive, it is library research method and
content analysis is the kind of the research. There are two kind of source data in this
research, first: primary source, the source data is taken from Aljamil Quran English
translation as the origin data. The second: secondary source, figurative language
and its educational values explain in surah Al-Kahf is the source data of secondary.
While the checking of data validity is using triangulation.
The result of the research shows that; there are six types of figurative
language explained in Surah Al-Kahf, they are: simile (1), antithesis (2), alliteration
(1), repetition (1), metonymy (3), and synecdoche (1). Aside from that, there also
some educational values taken from the same verse of figurative language, they are;
religious educational value (a). Love the journey of seeking knowledge, and b) pray
before studying, and moral educational value (1) (an educator should explain the
course clearly). Based on the finding and explanation above, the research shows
how important the role of Qur’an that provides the explanation of manners and
prophetic value that need to learn by Muslim and society of educations department
