THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MAKE A MATCH TECHNIQUE IN TEACHING QUESTION TAGS AT NINTH GRADE STUDENTS OF MTS UMMUL QURA TATTANGOH PAMEKASAN

Grammar is one of the important subjects in learning English. By
studying grammar, it helps you to comprehend well four English basic
skills. Those are, speaking, reading, listening, and writing. There are many
ways to teach grammar. One of them is cooperative learning. In MTS
Ummul Qura, the teacher used make a match technique to teach question
tags at ninth grade students.
In this study, there are two research focuses. They are how does the
teacher implement make a match technique in teaching question tags, and
what are the advantages and disadvantages of make a match technique in
teaching question tags at ninth grade students of MTS Ummul Qura
Tattangoh Pamekasan.
This research is a qualitative approach and uses descriptive research.
The location of this research is at Mts Ummul Qura Tattangoh Pamekasan.
In the data collection procedure, the researcher used interview,
observation, and documentation. In the data analysis, the researcher used
data reduction, data display, and conclusion.
The research finding of the implementation of make a match
technique in teaching question tags at ninth grade of Mts Ummul Qura
Tattangoh Pamekasan was successful. Based on the results of interviews
from the teacher and some students in the ninth grade of Mts Ummul Qura
Tattangoh Pamekasan, the teacher said that by using make a match
technique, it can motivate the students, the class become more interesting,
and grow student’ teamwork.
Based on the research findings above, this research is suggested for
teachers to be able to use other strategies or techniques to motivate
students. For students, they should improve and often practice English,
especially learning grammar. The last suggestion for other researchers to
