The portfolio learning model on the curriculum 2013 English language
achievement can increase student learning achievement. This is shown by students
who are very enthusiastic about reporting the results of their work and other groups
respond, even though there are tend to be students who are not active, so that the
role of the teacher is to motivate students to like English so far students have a
perception or the assumption that English lessons are very difficult to understand
or not understood. vocabulary. This makes researchers interested in conducting
research on the Influence of Portfolio Learning in the 2013 Curriculum on Class
VIII English Achievement at SMPN 1 Pamekasan.
Based on this, there are two problems in the study, the first is there an
influence of the portfolio learning model on the 2013 curriculum on English
learning in class VIII SMPN 1 Pamekasan, how significant is the influence of the
portfolio on the achievement of grade VIII students at SMPN 1 Pamekasan.
This study was to determine the effect of Portfolio Learning in the 2013
Curriculum on English Achievement in Class VIII at SMPN 1 Pamekasan. And
knowing the significant level of Portfolio Learning in the 2013 Curriculum on Class
VIII English Achievement at SMPN 1 Pamekasan. In this study, there are two
variables, namely: the portfolio learning model as the independent variable
(variable x) and English achievement as the dependent variable (variable y). In this
study using a quantitative approach. The population was 300 class VIII students at
SMPN 1 Pamekasan, while the sample, the researcher took 58 grade VIII students
at SMPN 1 Pamekasan. The research instrument used was documentation, in which
the documentation was obtained from the value of students' knowledge and skills.
to find out whether there is an effect of the portfolio learning model on the 2013
curriculum on English learning in class VIII SMPN 1 Pamekasan. Researchers

The results show that there is an effect of the portfolio learning model on
the 2013 curriculum on English learning at SMPN 1 Pamekasan, the statistical
significance level is (0.69). This is evidenced by the results of r count greater than
r table (0.69> 0.258) and there is a significant effect. enough in the portfolio
learning model of the 2013 curriculum on English learning at SMPN 1 Pamekasan
as evidenced by comparing r count with r product moment interpretation table,
where the value in this study r value is 0.69 while r table in interpretation is (0.600-
0.800).
