AN ANALYSIS OF TEACHER'S STRATEGIESIN TEACHING SPEAKING AT THE TENTH GRADE OF SMK NAHDLIYATUL ISLAMIYAH BLUMBUNGAN PAMEKASAN
ABSTRACT

Key words: Speaking, Teacher Strategies.
This thesis describes teacher strategies applied in teaching speaking like
TPS (think, pair and share strategy). The researcher also interest to analyze about
this strategy. In general the strategy is an action of teacher’s effort to get the main
purpose in teaching and learning.
This research used descriptive analysis method of qualitative research to
know the strategies used by the teacher. This thesis researcher using three types of
data collection, in observation, interviews, and documentation, because the
researcher need observe, interview, and documentation with using teacher
strategies.
Having analyzed the data, the researcher finally found a strategies used by the
teacher, that is TPS (think, pair and share strategy). The strategy used by the
teacher at SMK Nahdliyatul Islamiyah has included some indicators about
variations, media, English material, and evaluation that was made by the teacher
to know how far the student mastery about English material. The material that is
used by the teacher did not make the students got a difficulty, because the teacher
gave the material use a simple sentence in the teaching learning process. The
teacher gave some material based on the student level, every student has a
variation ability to understand each material. Based on the indicator of strategy, it
showed that the strategy used by the teacher was implemented appropriately
Therefore, the researcher tries to formulate suggestion relate with finding. The teacher
should create the good situations in the teaching and learning process. Teachers
don't forget to explain the instructions and the rules easily and understandably.
School should give more interesting picture as a media to develop the student's
ability in English learning. The researcher conduct the similar strategy with other
respondents to find out the advantages in that place.
