THE STUDY OF OBROLAN PAGI METHOD ON STUDENT'S ENGLISH SPEAKING SKILL IN LATANSA BEC PAMEKASAN

Most of people get the difficulties when they want to speak English
especially for the English learners. It happen because some reasons, such as, low
confidents, less vocabulary and do not know how to produce the world. In
teaching learning process the teacher must be able to choose and use a good
method to make the students interest and enjoy in the classroom activity. Obrolan
pagi method is the method that has a goal creating a relaxed and pleasant
classroom atmosphere, this is one of method that implemented by the teacher in
LATANSA BEC Pamekasan to make the students enjoy in the activity.
There are two focuses in this study, the first is how does the teacher
implement Obrolan pagi method in teaching English speaking skill in this place.
The second is how do the students’ response learning English peaking skill by
using Obrolan pagi method in this course.
In this study, the researcher used qualitative approach and kind of the
research is descriptive. the researcher uses three ways to get the data: interview,
observation and documentation. The observation is done in teaching English
speaking skill, and the data source of this study are the students and the teacher in
this English course. In data analysis, the researcher uses data condensation, data
display, conclusion drawing and verification. While for checking the data validity,
the researcher uses triangulation.
The result of this research shown that Obrolan pagi method that applied
by the teacher in this course is run well. The study began by the teacher tries to
motivate the students firstly in pre-teaching before he start the teaching learning
process, after that the teacher asks the students to convey their story with their
partner outside the class, then the teacher tries to response the students’ story by
help them when they have the difficulties or make a correction on their mistake
and give opportunity to other student who want to speak. It alternate until no one
who want to peak up or share their story. From the interview with some students:
Obrolan pagi method help the students to speak, it is a good method, help the
students to build students’ self-confidence and the last it can make the students
enjoy in the class.
