THE USE OF READING STRATEGIES IN READING SKILL FOR KINESTHETIC LEARNERS AT TWELFTH GRADE OF AL-GAZALI VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL PEGANTENAN PAMEKASAN

This study focus on kinesthetic learning style of the twelfth grade students of Al – Gazali
vocational high school Pegantenan Pamekasan (Smk Al-Gazali. The aims of this study is to find
the type of kinesthetic learning style and how the kinesthetic learners strategies use by the
twelfth grade students Al-Gazali vocational high school.
Kinesthetic’ learners of twelfth class reading a book with their style when the teacher
order to reading text, kinesthetic learners use their own ways in learning process to make them
easier to understand and enjoy in reading a text. Kinesthetic learners have a unique way or habit
character in the process of learning such as used their body movement, used finger as guide
when reading , memorizing whit talk and se, use many body signal and they want do everything.
The phenomenon above inspired the researcher to execute an analysis research in Al-Gazali
vocational high school, the research to analysis how the students’ kinesthetic way used by the
kinesthetic learners to learn or read book.
This method qualitative research. There are eight students kinesthetic at twelfth grade
class Al-Gazali vocational high school. Besides on the data the researcher gets from direct
observation, direct interview and documentation, this research is conducted by interview to know
how the kinesthetic learners and their strategy in learning English. Direct observation was did to
identify the students’ kinesthetic way in learning process and direct interview with the students at
twelfth grade class the data from direct observation about students kinesthetic learning style.
The research result of research can be concluded that kinesthetic learning style that found
eight students at twelfth grade Al-Gazali vocational high school when they reading a book in
classroom that is kinesthetic learning style with the habit and characteristics based on each kind
of learning style. Kinesthetic learning style can help the students in learning process when the
students feel bored and not understand to a text their style can help them to enjoy and easier in
reading a book or text.

Penelitian ini difokuskan pada gaya belajar kinestetik siswa kelas XII SMK Al - Gazali
Pegantenan Pamekasan (Smk Al-Gazali. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui
gaya belajar kinestetik dan strategi pembelajaran kinestetik yang digunakan oleh peserta didik
siswa kelas dua belas sekolah SMK Al-Gazali.
Peserta didik kinestetik kelas dua belas membaca buku dengan gayanya, peserta didik
kinestetik menggunakan caranya sendiri-sendiri dalam proses pembelajaran agar lebih mudah
memahami membaca teks. Peserta didik kinestetik memiliki cara atau karakter kebiasaan yang
unik dalam proses pembelajaran seperti menggunakan gerakan tubuhnya, menggunakan gerakan
jari saat membaca, , menggunakan banyak isyarat tubuh dan selalu ingin melakukan segala
sesuatu. Fenomena di atas menginspirasi peneliti untuk melakukan penelitian di SMK Al-Gazali,
yaitu penelitian untuk menganalisis bagaimana gaya belajar kinestetik siswa yang digunakan
oleh peserta didik untuk belajar atau membaca buku.
Metode ini penelitian kualitatif. Jenis kinestetik siswa kelas XII SMK Al-Gazali. Selain
data yang peneliti dapatkan dari observasi langsung, wawancara langsung dan dokumentasi,
penelitian ini dilakukan dengan wawancara untuk mengetahui bagaimana kinestetik peserta didik
dan strateginya dalam reading text bahasa Inggris. Observasi langsung dilakukan untuk
mengetahui cara kinestetik siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dan wawancara langsung dengan
siswa kelas XII untuk memperkuat data dari observasi langsung tentang gaya belajar kinestetik
siswa.
Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa gaya belajar kinestetik yang ditemukan pada
delapan siswa kelas XII SMK Al-Gazali saat membaca buku di kelas yaitu gaya belajar
kinestetik dengan kebiasaan dan karakteristik sesuai dengan gaya belajar masing-masing. Gaya
belajar kinestetik dapat membantu siswa dalam proses pembelajaran ketika siswa merasa bosan
dan kurang paham terhadap suatu teks, murid kinestetik menggunakan gaya mereka seperti
bergerak yang dapat membantu mereka untuk menikmati dan lebih mudah dalam membaca buku
atau teks.
