STUDENTS' RESPONSE ON LECTURER'S COMMENT FOR STUDENTS' PERFORMANCE IN TEACHING PRACTICE 1 AT THE SIXTH SEMESTER OF ENGLISH TEACHING LEARNING PROGRAM OF IAIN MADURA

Teaching practice is to provide opportunities for the students to practice some teaching skills in front of their friends, so that the students know how to teach well and the material is easy to understand by their friends when the students deliver material in a structured manner, and they are able to manage the time, and also they can manage the classroom well. On the other hand lecturer’s comments have an important role in teaching practice in order that the college students become professional teacher in the real school when they practice teaching.
There are two problems in this research, the first is what are the students’ response on lecturer’s comment for students’ performance in teaching practice 1 at the sixth semester of English teaching learning program of IAIN Madura, and the second is what are the advantages of lecturer’s comment for students’ performance in teaching practice 1 at the sixth semester of English teaching learning program of IAIN Madura.
The researcher uses qualitative descriptive approach. The researcher uses three ways to get the data: observation, interview, and documentation. The observation is done in teaching practice classroom, and the researcher takes ten college students every class of the sixth semester to be interviewed to get data. In data analysis, the researcher uses data condensation, data display, conclusion drawing and verification. While for checking the data validity, the researcher uses triangulation.
There are many kinds of response appear from the students. The responses come when the lecturer gives comment directly and after students’ performance in teaching learning process. Some students give good response like the students are happy, no down, challenging, better, fun, spirit, not bad and enjoy the classroom activities. And also, some of the students are shy, nervous, not confident, sad, and afraid, but they are still comfortable to join the class. I mean lecturer’s comment influences students’ teaching abilities, so that lecturer’s comment has a crucial role for the students, and the advantages of lecturer’s comment for students’ performance like students can know how teach well, how to manage time, how to manage the classroom well, they can convey the material correctly, and also the students can be more spirited, motivated, so that they get new experience to increase their teaching ability.

Praktik mengajar adalah untuk memberikan kesempatan bagi mahasiswa untuk mempraktikkan beberapa keterampilan mengajar di depan teman-temannya, sehingga mahasiswa tahu bagaimana mengajar dengan baik dan mudah dipahami oleh teman-teman mereka seperti menyampaikan materi secara terstruktur, bisa mengatur waktu, dan bisa mengatur kelas dengan baik. Di sisi lain komentar dosen memiliki peran penting dalam praktik mengajar agar mahasiswa menjadi guru yang professional.
Ada dua masalah dalam penelitian ini, yang pertama adalah apa tanggapan mahasiswa pada komentar dosen atas kinerja mahasiswa dalam praktik mengajar 1 pada semester enam program belajar mengajar bahasa inggris IAIN Madura, dan yang ke dua adalah apa mamfaat komentar dosen untuk kinerja mahasiswa dalam praktik mengajar 1 di semester enam program pembelajaran bahasa inggris IAIN Madura.
Peneliti mengunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Peneliti menggunakan tiga cara untuk mendapatkan data: observasi, wawancara, an dokumentasi. Pengamatan dilakukan di kelas praktik mengajar, dan peneliti mengambil sepuluh mahasiswa setiap kelas di semester enam untuk diwawancarai. Dalam analisis data, peneliti menggunakan kondensasi data, tampilan data, dan kesimpulan. Sedangkan untuk mengecek validitas data, peneliti menggunakan triangulasi.
Ada banyak macam respon yang muncul dari mahasiswa. Tanggapan diberikan ketika dosen memberikan komentar secara langsung dan setelah mahasiswa praktik ngajar. Banyak mahasiswa memberikan respon yang baik seperi senang, menyenangkan, baik, semangat tidak buruk dan menikmati kegiatan di kelas.dan juga beberapa mahasiswa merasa malu, gugup, tidak percaya diri,dan sedih, akan tetapi mereka menikmati dan merasa nyaman ada di kelas. Ini berarti bahwa komentar dosen mempengaruhi kinerja mahasiswa dalam praktik mengajar. Sehingga komentar dosen memiliki peran penting dalam praktik mengajar seperti mahasiswa tahu cara mengajar dengan baik, cara mengelola kelas dan cara mengelola waktu, dapat menyampaikan materi yang benar, dan juga siswa lebih semangat, termotivasi sehingga mereka akan mendapatkan mengalaman baru untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengajar mereka.
