THE EFFECTIVENESS OF WORD-WALLS MEDIA TO THE STUDENTS' ENGLISH VOCABULARY ACHIEVEMENT AT THE FIRST C CLASS OF ELEMNTARY SCHOOL LAWANGAN DAYA 2 PAMEKASAN

Vocabulary is one of the language components that has function to be
mastering four language skills. Enrich vocabulary in our mind make the students
are easily in mastering speaking, reading, writing, and listening, but teaching
vocabulary to the students are difficult, especially for the elementary school level.
The English teacher need something to make the students are easier in
remembering the words without memorizing the words, that is using media. The
media that can be used in remembering the words is word-walls.
There is a problem statement in this study, namely whether the students
who are taught by word-walls media have higher vocabulary achievement than
before being taught by word-walls media at the First C Class of Elementary
School Lawangan Daya 2 Pamekasan.
This study is to investigate the students who are taught by word-walls
media have higher vocabulary achievement than before being taught by wordwalls media at the First C Class of Elementary School Lawangan Daya 2
Pamekasan. There are two variables in this study; they are word-walls media, as
independent variable, and the students’ vocabulary achievement, as dependent
variable.
This research uses quantitative approach; while the kind of research uses
experimental research. The population of this research is all of the first grade
students of Elementary School Lawangan Daya 2 Pamekasan. The researcher uses
purposive sampling because the researcher have limited time and limited access in
conducting the research. So, the researcher chooses one class as sample, namely
First C Grade students which consist of 28 students. The instrument that are used
in collecting data are test (pre-test and post-test) and documentation. The
collecting data had been done for a month, started from 10th February 2020 until
9th March 2020. Data analysis technique that used is statistical analysis by using ttest
