THE USE OF AUDIO LINGUAL METHOD IN PRACTICING PRONUNCIATION AT TENTH GRADE OF SMA AN-ANUR TAMAN BARU AKKOR PAMEKASAN

Pronunciation is very important for EFL. English teachers have to teach their students how to pronounce English words correctly. Technically, pronounciation is the first step that the students should learn before going to the next level. Therefore, many people suppose that someone who can pronounce well. In practicing pronunciation,teacher can using some method or strategy in improvement student’s pronunciation.this tudy teacher use one of technique in audio lingual method.
In this research, there are three research focuses. They are How does the teacher use audio lingual method in practicing pronunciation at tenth grade of SMA An- Nur Taman Baru Akkor Pamekasan, what are the difficulties in practicing pronunciation by using audio lingual method at tenth grade of SMa An- Nur Taman Baru Akkor Pamekasan ?, How to overcome the difficulties in practicing pronunciation by using audio lingual method at tenth grade of SMA An- Nur Taman Baru Akkor Pamekasan ?.
In this research, the researcher used qualitative as the approach of the research and kind of research is descriptive. The data source is teacher. In collecting data the researcher used some procedures those are observation, interview and documentation. The researcher then analyzed the data by collecting, classifying, verifying, analyzing, and drawing a conlusion. Additionally, for getting the validity of data, the researcher used source and method triangulation.
The research findings of the use audio lingual method in practicing prinunciation at tenth grade of SMA An- Nur Taman Baru akkor Pameasan. The students were encouraged,enjoy,interesting, and enthusiastic in learning and practicing pronunciation. They also got easy to pronounce well by using audio lingual method.
Based on the research findings above, this research is suggested for the teacher who is expected to be able and to find new strategies or technique to motivated the students. The suggestion the students, they should also practice pronunciation without their teacher guidance in the classroom. For the readers, they can use this research of method in teaching learning process especially in pronunciation ability. The last suggestion is for other researcher to do the same research but in different aspect.
