AN ERROR ANALYSIS OF AFFIXATION ON STUDENTS TEXT TRANSLATION FROM INDONESIA INTO ENGLISH AT TENTH GRADER OF MA AN NAWARI SERATENGAH BLUTO SUMENEP

Translation is the procces of transfering language and message that should pay attention to another elements they are idea, culture, habit, etc. There are terms translation in interpretation in the translation theory. Translation it self refers to transfering written message, and interpretation refers to transfering message orally. In teaching learning procces, teacher sometimes give test to students by ask them to translate the text of translation learning. In translating text students make some errors especially in affixation. Affixation is the procces of adding something weather in the beginning, middle or in the end of the word. there are three kinds of affixation: suffix, infix, and prefix.
There are two research problems in this study. The first how are the procces of error analysis of affixation on students’ text translation from Indonesia into English at MA An Nawari Seratengah Bluto Sumenep. The second is what are the types of affixation error in tenth grader student’s translation of MA An Nawari.The data was collected through observation and documentation of tenth grader students text translation from Indonesia into English at MA An nawari Seratengah Bluto Sumenep.
The result of this research showed that the procces used through translation are analysis stage, transfer stage, and resucture stage. There are two types of students affixation error in traanslation, they are prefix and suffix. and that two types classified into derivational affixes (change the meaning and class of word) inflectional affixes (creating new form of the same word).
Based of the result above it is suggested for English teacher to evaluate the students’ affixation error in translating text and another task given, help the students in minimizing the students’ affixation error in translating, use the teaching and learning strategies that appropriate with teaching learning procces of affixation in order to make the student easy to get the materials. It is suggested for the tenth grader students of MA An Nawari Seratengsh Bluto Sumenep to increase their English skill, practice English affixation either in writing or listening skill, have good preparation in learning English especially affixation in order to the teaching learning procces of affixation runs well, and have good motivation in order to get the good result of translating text in learning affixation.
