ANALYSIS OF HYPERBOLE IN ROBERT FROST POEMS

Poems is kind of literary work. Where in this literary work usually used figurative language. For example, hyperbole. The hyperbole is used in poem as a way to deliver expression, feeling or idea differently. In other word, it delivered indirectly. Hyperbole is used to compare two unlike things. This study focuses on the hyperboles that are found in Robert Frost’s Poems by using comprehension of something else. So hyperbole is not only expression, but also it is a concept of human’s thought.
Based on the case above, it can be appointed two research problems of this study in which they are: what are the types of hyperbole found in Robert Frost’s Poems? and What is the meaning of type of hyperbole found in Robert Frost Poems? while the objective of his study is to explain the types of hyperbole in Robert Frost’s poems. it also aims to explain the meaning type of hyperbole in Robert Frost’s poems.
This study is conducted by using psychological approach in library research. Because in psychological approach basically related with that author, literary work and the reader and also the data in this study utilize of library source. This study is used descriptive analysis method to describe the result of Robert Frost’s Poems analysis.
The result of this study are some finding that related with hyperbole in Robert Frost’s poems which is divided into three types. The researcher finds 18 datas. The researcher finds three types of hyperbole, 8 datas which are categorized as affective dimension, 5 datas are include into function as amplification, and 5 datas are categorized as pragmatic nature.
