ABSTRACT
The poor achievement of students in vocabulary and their low motivation in learning English, especially vocabulary, became serious problems for the teachers. Seeing the teachers initiate to use the appropriate technique and approach which could increase the students’ interest in the learning process in the classroom. Therefore, the teacher needed to apply learning strategies, which are aimed to create an interesting atmosphere so that the students will be enthusiastic in the learning process.The first, the students must have many vocabularies in English that can help them to know the meaning of what they learn in English. Learn vocabulary in class is success when the students understood what the teacher teaches and they can give feedback about the material. The mastery of vocabulary is very important in language teaching. To make the teaching learning process run effectively, the English have to the game, in this research the English teacher uses word sun game in teaching vocabulary. Word sun game is a game where students draw in circles and write the topic word in the middle circle that finally formed a sunflower.

Introduction
Technique or method of teacher’s ways in teaching-learning process is very important for students and the situations of classroom because it is influence in students understanding the lesson. If students does not focus on the teaching learning process it would give bad impact for students itself, therefore teachers should to know how to raise student’s interest toward vocabulary.
While Jack Richard states that Vocabulary is a set of lexemes‘, including single word, compound and idiom. From his statement vocabulary is one of important element in language it should be understood by the students if they want to know and easy in English language. It also gives some advantages for learners to learn how to speak, listen, read and write well. The students will easy in mastering all of the skills if they can memorize some vocabularies, because vocabulary will support the learning of language skill development.
In vocabulary class, the students should have good ability in English vocabulary because it can support all subjects in English. The first, the students must have many vocabularies in English that can help them to know the meaning of what they learn in English. Learn vocabulary in class is success when the students understood what the teacher teaches and they can give feedback about the material. The mastery of vocabulary is very important in language teaching.
In the teaching learning process at the first grade at MTs. Nurul Iman Tonduk Ra’as the students had difficulties in learning English especially in the vocabulary. It proved when the English teacher suggested to me for research VII because the students have a low motivation to learn English subject. The problems are categorized into cognitive and affective problem. From the point of view of cognitive problem are: (a) the students get difficulty in grasping the meaning. When they read sentences or texts, the students cannot understand the information in the passage, it dues to the fact that they do not understand the meanings of the words in the text. Many students had difficulties in grasping the meaning. For example the word “TAME” the students do not understand the meaning of that word, (b) the students have difficulty in spelling. Similar with the students’ way in pronouncing words, when they are asked to spell the words, they write them incorrectly. The students do not know the correct spelling of the words they used in the writing, (c) when they write simple sentences, they have difficulty to arrange the words in appropriate context of situation. It was shown when the students arrange some sentences. They were difficult to arrange the sentences well. For example “the biggest – animals – the – world – in – one – is – Elephant” the students word “Elephant is the biggest of one animals in the world”.

Therefore, the teacher needed to apply learning strategies, which are aimed to create an interesting atmosphere so that the students will be enthusiastic in the learning process.
Based on the above problem, it is important to use a new technique or media to help students in solving their vocabulary problems. The teacher should find the best or the effective technique to teach English vocabulary. It is also used to stimulate the students’ motivation and students’ interest to the lesson. The researcher chosen word sun game can motivate students and make them interested in learning vocabulary English for junior high school.
In this case, the researcher found one of the game that have been done from the teacher in MTs. Nurul Iman. This game can make students motivate and improve the students to learn English vocabulary. The researcheruses different game in teaching vocabulary namely word sun game. The researcherwants to know how the teacher implement the Word Sun Game. Beside that the researcher uses the qualitativeapproach to know how the implementation of word sun game in the teaching learning process. Based on the phenomena above, why the researcher interested to conduct a research with the title “The Implementation of Word Sun Game on Students’ Vocabulary Mastery at TheSeventh Grade of MTs. Nurul Iman Tonduk Ra’as Sumenep”.
