AN ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS’ LEARNING STYLE IN PDCI (PESERTA DIDIK CERDAS ISTIMEWA) ENGLISH CLASS ON THE LAST GRADE AT MTSN SUMBER BUNGUR PAMEKASAN

In the process of learning, English becomes general lesson that have to learn by students especially for PDCI class. PDCI class is a special class for the students that have a good talent and abilities where this class only learns for two years different from the other classes. Students of PDCI class study English with different ways where the teacher’s as a guide to facilitate. The fact shows that there are three kinds of learning style that have by students’ of PDCI class such as visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning style with different habits and characteristics.
The phenomenon above inspired the researcher to execute an analysis research in MTsN Sumber Bungur Pamekasan, a research that was mainly purposed to analyze how the students’ ways that used by the students’ of PDCI’s class on the last grade when they were study English in the classroom.
This research is qualitative approach with descriptive types because this research explains in detail in form of words based on the data that the researcher gets. Three kinds of data collection procedure were utilized to obtain the data. They were direct observation was did to identify the students ways in learning process whether the way that the students used include to the three kinds of learning style, direct interview with the students’ of PDCI’s class was to strengthen the data from direct observation about students’ learning style while, the direct interview with the teacher as secondary data and documentation was used to know the students’ attendance list, daily journal, lesson plan, syllabus and registration brochure for PDCI class. While, to checking the validity of data the researcher used triangulation that is triangulation of source.
The research result reveals that there are three kinds of learning style that found from the ten students’ of PDCI’s class on the last grade when they study English in the classroom that is visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning style. The students who has two learning style is Putri Rahmatiani but she is tend to one learning style while the most active participant with good grammar is Rizqi Amalia Ramadhani with her kinesthetic learning style.
The finding above also confirms that different learning style give the difference effect to the students’ learning achievement especially in English as long as the students utilize and working well with their own learning style. Therefore, very recommended to the English teachers to be aware of the various students’ ways with strategies or techniques in order they can develop the student’s abilities in learning maximally.
