THE STUDY OF WORD FORMATON PROCESS THAT USED ON BANNER ADVERTISEMENT IN PAMEKASAN CITY

Morphology is the study of word formation process, including the ways new words are coined in the languages of the word, and the ways forms of words are varied depending on how they are used in sentences. One of the branches which focus on forming new word is called word formation process. The theory above can be related with the phenomena in the way of our communication. Banner advertisement is the tool of communication to share an information in public. In this case, commonly the people that use the banner advertisement to share an infomation use written communication that are deliver in the new form. In brief, the writter interest to study the English word formation process that use on banner advertisement in Pamekasan city based on word formation process. The writter formulates two research problem in this thesis, What are the English word formation process that use in the banners advertisement in Pamekasan city? And What are the types of word formation process in the banners advertisement in Pamekasan city?.So, the writer proposes this thesis to know and find out the english word formation process and the types of those word formation process that use on the banners advertisement in Pamekasan city. In the process of composing this research, the writer uses the qualitative approach especially descriptive research. Thus, the data source of this research is the English word that used on banners advertisement in Pamekasan City. The researher also use documentation to get the data. The result of data showed that the banners advertisement in Pamekasan city use their banners advertisement with many english word. The writer found many english word on the banners advertisement but she just took 30 (thirty) banners advertisement as data. In addition, the result of discussion also showed fifty two (52) word that involved word formation process. Based the result above. It is suggested for the students to know and can analyze word based on word formation process because it adds knowledge about the structure of word and the forming of new word
