THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SIMON SAYS GAME IN TEACHING ENGLISH AT THE FOURTH GRADE OF SDN 1 POLAGAN PAMEKASAN

Simon says is a kind of game that consist of three students and more one person designated as Simon. If Simon says jump, then others should jump to Simon give new cue. Be careful with the cues he is sued. If Simon just says (there is a word of Simon say in front of it) so members do not sit. Easy game but requires concentration on what the chairman says.
There are three research focuses in this research, namely: the first how does the teacher implement Simon Says game in teaching English at the fourth grade of SDN 1 Polagan Pamekasan, second what are the advantages in implementation of Simon Says game in teaching English at the fourth Grade of SDN 1 Polagan Pamekasan, the last what are the disadvantages in the implementation of Simon Says game in teaching English at the fourth Grade of SDN 1 Polagan Pamekasan.
The kind of research is qualitative research. Qualitative research is best suited to address a research problem in which we do not know the variable and need to explore. And also the researcher uses the descriptive research. Descriptive is a research design to obtain information concerning the current status of phenomenon. It means that, descriptive research used by researcher to get information based on phenomena that happen in the field such as circumstances, conditions and other things that have been mentioned. To collect the data, the researcher using observation checklist, Lesson plan of the English teacher, photos of students when learning English process using Simon says, interview guideline, Photos when doing interview.
The result from the research, the researcher conclude that In SDN 1 Polagan Pamekasan, the teacher order the students to follow the teacher’s directions to apply Simon says game, and the teacher success to make the students enjoy in joining the materials in the classroom. The teacher feel that the Simon says game is an alternative way to make students more active in learning English subject. The advantages of Simon says game was shown by the teacher and student’s activity in the classroom. The first many students have bring the real word and make the students become work in Team, the second were Games bring in relaxation and fun for the students, the third was help them learn and retain new words more easily, the fourth were Games usually involve friendly competition and they keep learners interest, the fifth were highly motivating and they give students more opportunity to express their feeling, the sixth Could invited the students to more excited and not bored. And disadvantages of simons says game that used in teaching English subject were the classroom became crowded class and it can disturb to another class.
Based on the result above that in this research give the instruction to the teacher to be a good teacher in giving the materials and the way to students more active in following the learning process.
