THE IMPLEMENTATION OF FORTUNE TELLER GAME ON STUDENTS’ SPEAKING MASTERY AT ELEVENTH GRADE OF SMK DARUSSALAM TORJUN SAMPANG

In learning English, speaking skill is the crucial part of foreign language learning. Speaking skill is the main skill which is very demanded by the teacher in English teaching, because speaking skill is the main skill to measure the other language skill. In the reality, most of the students who have learnt about English, not all of them can speak English. Even thought the students have reading skill, writing skill, and listening skill. It is not sure they can speak English. The difficulties of students are caused by some factors. So, fortune teller game is one of teaching method that can be applied to increase the students’ speaking ability. Based on the background, so in this research tries to know the advantages and disadvantages of the implement of fortune teller game on teaching speaking at the eleventh grade of SMK Darussalam TorjunSampang.
This research is focused on two problem which become main discussion in this research, the first How does English teacher implement Fortune teller Game on students’ speaking mastery at the eleventh grade of SMK Darussalam Torjun, and the second, What are the advantages and disadvantages use Fortune teller Game on students’ speaking mastery at the eleventh grade of SMK Darussalam TorjunSampang.
In this research, researcher conducted qualitative research while the kind of research is descriptive, the data are gotten by interview, observation and documentation, then those data are analyze with analysis qualitative descriptive. All of the data gotten are checked the validity of the data by the persistence of observation, triangulation.
The result of this research found that the implementation of fortune teller game on teaching speaking at the eleventh grade of SMK Darussalam TorjunSampang was success. It can be proved when the students can make sentence by sentence and expression of the every lesson they learnt and it also proved when some students able to response every single question which in every flap of the paper in the fortune teller game. Fortune teller game makes students active and enthusiastic in teaching learning process, confidence to speak up, and they not afraid again to make mistake in pronounce English.
The result of the research above, it is suggested for the English teacher in order to use some game on teaching speaking especially fortune teller game as the alternative to improve the students speaking skill and the teacher should pay attention and also create effective in teaching learning process, and it is suggested for the students to always practice their speaking with their friends, memorize many vocabularies, don’t afraid to speak up and make mistakes.
