THE USE OF STORYBOARD AS AUDIOVISUAL MEDIA TOWARD THE STUDENTS MOTIVATION IN ENGLISH LEARNING PROCESS AT THE ELEVENTH GRADE OF SMAN 1 PADEMAWU

Speaking is an important language that should be mastered in language learning. But at the fact, speaking is become one of language skill that difficult to be mastered by the students. One of way to improve the students speaking ability is by using storyboard as media.
There are tworesearch problems in this study that become the main study of this research includes: the use of storyboard as audiovisual media, and the advantages and the disadvantages of the use of storyboard as audiovisual media toward the students motivation in English learning process at the eleventh grade of SMAN 1 pademawu.
The use of storyboard as audiovisual media toward the students motivation in English learning process have some advantages, includes: storyboard as media build up the students motivation into speak up, derived the material easily, the students were interested to pay attention to the lesson, increase their vocabulary mastery, train their listening skill, have better progression in speaking English, overcome the limitation of the students experience and classroom situation alive. While the disadvantages are, the students will be bored if the storyboard used in frequent, the students confused if the pronunciation in the storyboard provide too fast, and difficult to control the students.
Based on the result above, it is suggested for the English teacher to create the teaching learning process to be more attractive by using various kinds of storyboard in order to make the students interested to study.
