THE ROLE OF ENGLISH TEACHER AS INNOVATOR IN ENGLISH SPEAKING AREA AT SEVENTH GRADE OF MTS ST KHODIJAH GULBUNG SAMPANG

There are four skill in English: listening, speaking, reading and writing. But, speaking seems the most important because people used it in their daily life. Every teacher has role self when they are teach,especially role teacher as innovaor, in this case the teacher should make the students speak english well, than practice it in the classroom with their friends. The Role of English teacher as innovator in English speaking area make the teacher must be able to have new idea or something different in teaching learning process.
There are three research focuses in this study. The first is how are the role of English teacher as innovator in English speaking area at seventh grade of Mts st Khodijah Gulbung Sampang? What are the problem faced in speaking area by the teacher seventh grade of MTs St Khodijah Gulbung Sampang? How does the teacher solve the problem, faced by the teacher as innovaor in English speaking area, at seventh grade of MTs St Khodijah?
In this research, the researcher used qualitative research as the approach of research and kind of research is descriptive. The data source are the teacher and the students of MTs St Khodijah Gulbung Sampang. And to collect the data, the researcher used three technique, those are observation, interview and documentation.
The result, the researcher found that the role of English teacher as innovaor in English speaking area that done by the teacher in the classroom is run well and teaching learning process is succesfull by using innovation from the teacher, than practice the speaking. Students get progress to speak up with native speaker and they get new vocabularies from hear their friend when they are talking each other in the classroom especially in speaking area.
