Teaching vocabulary is one of the important elements in language that should be understood by learners because it supports the learning of language skill development in order to master the target language. It is a core component of language proficiency and provides much of the basis for how well learners speak, listen, read and write. As we know that to help the learners memorizing vocabulary, it is important to make the learner can memorize and master the vocabulary more easily. Game is an activity with role, goals, and element of fun. It means that vocabulary can be learned by game.
In this case, the researcher wants to know the implementation of alphabet video game on vocabulary mastery for seventh grade of SMP Unggulan Al-Hikam Pasanggar Pegantenan Pamekasan and to know the responses of the implementation of alphabet video game in the class. Therefore, the researcher conducted a research which was focused on “How does the teacher implement alphabet video game on vocabulary mastery for the seventh grade of SMP Unggulan Al-Hikam Pasanggar Pegantenan Pamekasan?”, ‘What are the advantages of use thealphabetvideo game on vocabulary mastery for the seventh of SMP Unggulan Al-Hikam Pasanggar Pegantenan Pamekasan?” and “What are the disadvantages of use thealphabetvideo game on vocabulary mastery for the seventh of SMP Unggulan Al-Hikam Pasanggar Pegantenan Pamekasan?”
In this research, the researcher used qualitative approach because this research focused mainly on analysis the implementation of alphabet video game on vocabulary mastery for seventh grade of SMP Unggulan Al-Hikam Pasanggar Pegantenan Pamekasan. To get the data, the researcher did observation to the classroom when teaching learning process, the researcher did an interview with the teacher and the student of SMP Unggulan Al-Hikam Pasanggar Pegantenan Pamekasan and also the researcher took the photos of some activities that have done by the teacher and the students when implemented the game in the classroom as a documentation.
The result, the researcher found how the teacher implemented alphabet video game on students’ vocabulary mastery in classroom and teaching learning vocabulary. Alphabet video gameare steps that are, the teacher prepares the alphabet video game in front of students,the teacher divides students into same group and every group consists of 3 studentsthe teacher orders students to watching the video one more and rememmber the vocabulary,the teacher will ask to the student in the first group one by one about the video which they have watched just nowand fther the first group answers the question, continue to the second group and the activity is same.
