Everyone should have education and continue to add the education they have made possible, because education is very important in life, and no exception to the disable students in special schools who also need a place to be able to get a lesson in the school, disable students can learning in the school the named school is SLB. SLB is school for student with special need/impairnmet student/disability students especially mental backwardness student.Mental backwardness children is one classification of children with disable student (ABK) with mental barriers. In this research, object of the research is mental bakwardness student with IQ 20-60 (embicile). Learning is a process of learning that repeated and cause a change in behavior aware and tend to be fixed.Learning media for proper mental backwardnessis a learning medium that is concrete, interesting, and easy to use. So, the right media of learning is the media that pay attention to it all and one of all of media that used in learning english is animal picture. Based on the explanation above the researcher conducted research about Using Animal Pictures for Mental Backwardness Student in Learning English at Seventh Grade in SMPLB PGRI Tlanakan, Pamekasan.
This research uses descriptive qualitative research method case study type, because this research describe the data without statistical anaysis, the researcher intends to describes the phenomenon of how does the process of using animal pictures for mental Backwarness student in Learning English at Seventh Grade SLB PGRI Tlanakan, Pamekasan, and in this case the researcher use observation, interview and documentation to collect the data. Subject in this study is mental backwardness student who are in class 7.This research use descriptive qualitative research .This research aims to describe using animal pictures for mental backwardness student in Learning English at SeventhGrade in SMPLB PGRITlanakan, Pamekasan. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method case study type.Subjects in this study were mental backwardness who are in class 7. Datacollection using observation, interviewsand documents. Data analysis techniques consist of reducing data, presenting data, and summarizing data. Verification of data validity using triangulation source and triangulation technique.
The result of this research concludes that the process of learning the ingredients of using animal pictures formental backwardnessstudent consists of; the material is based on the assessment. So, it’s different from regular students, but it’s not yet functional; learning media used is a concrete, simple, easy to find and the media that used by the teacher is animal pictures; the learning method applied with the other students, the obstacles experienced by teachers during learning, among others, difficulty communicating withmental backwardnessstudent, the teacher should give two explanations, not all teachers get debriefing to teach mental backwardnessstudent, less time mentoring, learning is very positive.
