Writing is One of Four English skills namely: Speaking, Reading, Listening and Writing. By writing the student can express their feeling, idea or their opinion well. There are many Techniques that can be used by teacher; one of them is Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition Technique. The teacher uses this Technique to make the students more active and the process of teaching and learning interesting. In this research there are two research focuses, the first is how the teacher Implements Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition Technique on Student’s Writing skill at the Eighth grade of MTs Darul Hikmah Torjun Sampang and what the weaknesses of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition Technique on Student’s Writing skill at the Eighth grade of MTs Darul Hikmah Torjun Sampang.
The researcher uses qualitative research as approach of research and descriptive as kind of research. Sources of data are the students at the Eighth at MTs Daru Hikmah Torjun Sampang. In collecting data, the researcher uses observation, interview and documentation. Then the researcher analyzes by identifying the data, classifying the data and drawing conclusion. Beside that, to get the validity of data the researcher uses Triangulation.
The result of this research shows that the teacher implements Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition Technique on Student’s Writing skill at the Eighth grade of MTs Darul Hikmah Torjun are the students more active in express their feeling, idea or their opinion by writing and process of teaching and learning interesting. The weaknesses of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition Technique in teaching Writing skill are this technique need Long time and the active student’s be more active.
From the statement above, it suggests to the English teacher should be creative to make the technique more interesting, especially in teaching writing.
