THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING PERSONAL OPINION GAME AS MEDIA TOWARDS STUDENTS WRITING DESCRIPTIVE TEXT AT SEVENTH GRADE OF SMP AL-ITTIHAD PUTERI CAMPLONG SAMPANG

Writing is the productive skills or psychological activity of the language use to put information in the written texts. We can increase our written texts with taught our ideas to share, one of the written is using descriptive texts. It is to describe and give the perception someone else by using descriptive text, to makes our writing descriptive texts more be easy and benefit for students or each other and to make students writing descriptive texts is better by using “personal opinion game”.
There are two problems in this researc. Firstly, is whether the seventh grader taught writing descriptive text by using personal opinion game have better writing skills than the seventh grader how do not taught by using personal information game at SMP AL-Ittihad Puteri Camplong. Secondly, is how significant is the different on writing descriptive texts between seventh grader taught using personal opinion game at SMP AL-Ittihad Puteri Camplong Sampang.
This research applied quantitative research, in which the data is analysed by using statistical procedures. This research is Experimental research that involves variable X as independent variable (Personal opinion game) and variable Y as dependent varible (Writing descriptuve texts). The subject of this research is the students at seventh grade of SMP AL-Ittihad Puteri camplong Sampang. Those consist of 36 students. C class is control group in which consist 19 students who do not get treatment and D class is Experimental group in which consist of 17 students who get treatment by appliying personal opinion game in teaching learning proceses, while research intrument are used test and documentation. The obatained data from test was analyzed by using t-test formula.
The result showed that the students taught using personal opinion game as media have better writing skills of SMP AL-Ittihad Puteri Camplong and the significant different its prove with t-value is higher than t-table in 5 % (3,444>2,10) and (3,444>2,12). Its mean that, the Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Using personal opinion game can help the teacher in teaching writing more active and enjoyable during joining the lesson.
Based on the result above it is suggested for English teacher to understand the students condition in the classroom.
