THE COMPARISON BETWEEN STUDENTS WHO LEARN BY LECTURING METHOD AND WHO DON’T OF STUDENT’S ENGLISH ACHIEVEMENT AT TENTH GRADE IN SMAN 4 PAMEKASAN

Vocabulary is one important aspect in learning a foreign language. For able to speak a foreign language a human must be know some vocabulary, if a people has many vocabularies, so a people can more easy to practice (speak, write, read and listen) a foreign language (English language). Besides that, vocabulary is a core component of language proficiency and provides much of the basic for how well learners speak, listen, write and read. So, the teacher must be creative to make a student able to remember or having much a vocabulary. Because vocabulary is an important aspect to increase students’ knowledge to more easy to understand the lesson. And the teacher implements an obligation to consulting dictionary every English lesson.
There are two problems of study in this research. The first,is there any influence ofConsulting Dictionary to student’s English vocabulary mastery at Seventh grader for MTs At-ta’awunLegung Barat Batang-BatangSumenep. The second, how significance is the influence of Consulting Dictionary to Students’ English vocabulary mastery at Seventh grader for MTs At-ta’awunLegung Barat Batang-BatangSumenep.
This research uses quantitative approach. The kind of this research is non experimental design, namely is correlation research is one of the descriptive research design used to measure the correlation between two or more continuous variables. So the researcher uses this kind of research to know the correlation between two variables; they are X variable (independent variable) and Y variable (dependent variable).
The “r” value of this research is 0,556. In comparing rxywith rt, it can be known that rxyor “r” value of this research higher than the table of coefficient value of correlation “r” product moment either in level significance 5% and 1% with N=42. So, the first hypothesis is accepted.
From the statement above, the researcher conclude that this way helped the students to more easy remember and having many vocab, because the students having many vocabulary is caused always open dictionary and read a same word until they remember the word. The researcher suggest that the teacher must improve the Students’ English Vocabulary Mastery in teaching learning process and the teacher must be creative when using this way to make the student still enjoy and spirit to join the class.
