THE METHOD USED INTEACHING ENGLISH FOR SEVENTH GRADE ON EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AT MTS AINUL FALAH BAKIONG GULUK-GULUK SUMENEP

Teaching methods is one important thing in teaching learning process especially in teaching four English skills. The English skills namely, speaking, reading, writing, and listening. An teacher needed methods in teaching learning process. It is to achieve an educational goal and the principle of success learning and also make the students are interested and enjoyable at the classroom. Therefore, in this research the researcher conducts a research about The Methods used in Teaching English for Seventh Grade on Extracurricular Activities At MTS AinulFalahBakiongGuluk-gulukSumenep
From the phenomenon above, the researcher interests to know what are the method used in Teaching English for Seventh grade on extracurricular activities at MTS ainulfalahbakiongGuluk-gulukSumenep , How does the teacher applied the method in Teaching English for extracurricular activities at MTS AinulFalahBakiongGuluk-gulukSumenep .
In this case, the researcher used descriptive qualitative. The researcher got the data from the interview, observation and documentation. The number of students that follow extracurricular activities is twenty two students . The data analysis that the researcher used are data reduction, data display and Conclusion drawing/ verification. To check the data validity, the researcher used triangulation of source.
The result of this research showed when the teacher used the method in teaching four English skills, the students are interested in learning well. The teacher used different methods. In speaking activities, the teacher uses direct method , in reading activity the teacher uses Grammar Translation method, in listening activities the teacher uses Audio-lingual method, and writing activities the teacher uses Grammar Translation method same with speaking activity . speaking skill just applied at Tuesday afternoon time, reading skill at day time applied every Wednesday at morning time, listening skill at day time applied Thursday at morning time, and writing skill at day time applied Friday at morning time
According to the statement above, the researcher concludes that this direct method, grammar translation method, and Audio-lingual method can help the students more be active. The researcher suggests that the teacher should be more creative in English learning, especially in teaching four English skills namely reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Because the teacher role influences the students’ activeness in the class and also become motivation to be spirit and always interested in learning.
