TEACHING ENGLISH METHODS IMPLEMENTEDBY THE ENGLISH TEACHER AT THE TENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF DESIGN FASHION CLASS OF SMKN 3 PAMEKASAN

In education context, teaching English learning process in classroom influence so much to the students’ behavior and response. The methods that the teacher used also determine the students’ understanding to the material that expalined by the teacher in the class. Teaching English learning process, the teacher should explain the material clearly. The researcher interested to conduct a research which is focused on the teaching English methods used by the English teacher at the tenth grade students of Design Fashion class of SMKN 3 Pamekasan.
This research focuses on three problems. First,what are the methods used by the English teacher at the tenth grade students of Design Fashion class of SMKN 3 Pamekasan. The second, What are the strengths and weakneses of the methods used by the English teacher at the tenth grade students of Design Fashion class of SMKN 3 Pamekasan. The third, How the students’ responses of the methods used by the English teacher at the tenth grade students of Design Fashion class of SMKN 3 Pamekasan .
The researcher employs qualitative descriptive as the approach. She collected the data by using Interview, and Documentation. The researcher interviewed the English teacherin order to knowthe methods used by the teacher in teaching English at the tenth grade students of Design Fashion class , and what are the kinds of methodsused by the teacherin teaching English subject and also interviewed the students of Design Fashion at the tenth grade to know their responses to the teacher’ methods that used in teaching English subject. The researcher interviewed the English teacher about what are her methods used that have the strength and weakness of method that used in teaching English subject.
The result of research showed thatthe English teacherused three kinds of methods in teaching English at the tenth grade students of Design Fashion classthat depend on the topics discussion given to the students of Design Fashion class. Namely, Grammar Translation Method, Lecturer Method and Media. But one of those methods that used by the Englishteacher in teaching English subject, there is the strength and weakness of method that used to explain the material to the students. Even thoughtthe weakness of method faced,the English teachergave solutionwith the problem that have. Besides that, the researcher also knows that all the students of Design Fashion class have good responses to the English teacher’ explanation in teaching English subject with the methods used. Finally, the English teaching methods used by the English teacher for the students of Design Fashion class is running well as expected.The students also listen and also respect what the teacher explained in the class. In order that teaching English learning process is running well as expected too.
