IMPROVING ENGLISH SKILL BY USING DRAWING ACTIVITY STRATEGY TO STUDENTS AT TK MAMBAUL ULUM BANDUNGAN

Drawing activity is a unique of knowing and understands the word. Purposeful arts activities expand children’s ways of exploring, expressing. Children commonly can be more interactive if the teaching learning process more creative and enjoyable. Draw can help the students understand what they’re seeing and to express what they’re feeling. Researcher found that students at B class in TK Mambaul Ulum Bandungan are not able to know the word, proposition, colors thing or even object in vocabulary. They were not active in the class, they just painted the book without know the meaning of that draw. The teacher implementing the teaching learning process is done not creative, and the standard score still low.
Based on the phenomenon in this study is aimed at answering the following question: 1. How the way to implement drawing activity strategyto prove English skill to students at TK Mambaul Ulum Bandungan? 2. How does drawing activity prove English skill to students at TK Mambaul Ulum Bandungan?”
This study used classroom action research as the research design. The subject of this study was students at B class in TK Mambaul Ulum Bandungan that consist of 13 students. The procedures of the study consisted of four steps: planning the action, implementation, observation and reflection.
This research there wascycle 1 and cycle 2. In cycle 1 and cycle 2 the researcher used field note, observation sheet, and questionnaire and post test. Field note, observations sheet and questionnaire, to collect the data about English skill the researcher used post test in each cycle. In cycle 1 there were 6 students (46%) successful and 7 students (54%) failed the average 71, and from cycle 2 there were 11 students (84%) successful and 2 students (16%) failed the average 77 in cycle 2, from cycle 1 students improvement (38%) from the use of drawing activity can be showed that the students test is successful.
Based on the findings of the study, the English teacher is suggested to use drawing activity in teaching English, because it can solves the students’ difficulties in teaching English. It is suggestion the use of drawing activity as strategy in teaching English is needed to be explored further in different level, level education and also in different skill. The weaknesses of this strategy in implementation in the teaching learning process are, this strategy needs much time to do drawing, discussion in pair and share the product.
