Speaking skill is one of basic skill in learning English to convey information or expressing someone’s thoughts and feeling in the form of spoken language.Whileautonomy Learning is process students acquired knowledge through their own effort to develop their skill for enquiry and have responsibility to achieve their study.
There are fourresearch focuses in this study. Firstly, how students prepare autonomy learning on students’ speaking skill of second semester at STAIN Pamekasan in 2017/2018 academic year. Secondly, what the problems faced by students in usingof autonomy learning on students’ speaking skill of second semester at STAIN Pamekasan in 2017/2018 academic year.Thirdly, how students cope problems by using autonomy learning on students’ speaking skill of second semester at STAIN Pamekasanin 2017/2018academic year. Fourthly, what advantages of autonomy learning on students’ speaking skill of second semester students at STAIN Pamekasan in 2017/2018 academic year.
This research uses qualitative approach with the descriptive research. The data was collected through observation, interview, and documentation. In this research, the researcher uses technique triangulation. In conducting the data use some technique such as observation, interview and documentation to get valid data.
The result of this research shows as follow : Firstly students prepare autonomy learning on students’ speaking skill of second semester students at STAIN Pamekasanin 2017/2018 academic year with search material,make note, and practice speak English. Secondly, what the students’ problems in learning speaking of second semester at STAIN Pamekasan in 2017/2018 academic year are students have less vocabulary,student feel shy to speak up,and students cannot arrange their speaking.Thirdly, students cope problems by using autonomy learning on students’ speaking skill of second semester at STAIN Pamekasanin 2017/2018 academic year with memorize vocabulary,use body language and avoid eye contact directly, and practice to speak English,.Fourthly, advantages of autonomy learning on students’ speaking skill of second semester students at STAIN Pamekasanin 2017/2018 academic year are the students enjoy in the teaching learning process, the students are active,and the students get easy to understand the material.
Based on the result above, it is suggested for English teacher tomotivate the students so that the students can increase their capability in speaking and also the teacher can create the situation that makes students to be autonomy learning. Besides, it is recommended for second semester on students ‘speakingskillat STAIN to study hard and high motivation by obeying the teacher’s instruction in class, and should be independent for learning
