Grammar is the rule in a language for changing the form of word and the combination into sentence. Grammar is one of ways to make four components of English developed that has much function in writing skill. According to Mary K. Mc Caskill, grammar means the study of the classes of word, their inflections [changes in form to distinguish case, gender, tense, etc.] and functions in a sentence. Therefore, grammar takes an important part in making a good sentence or a writing paragraph. Actually, Writing needs well knowledge and hard thinking when produce words, sentences, paragraph at the same time with good English grammatical.
In detail, this research focuses on the kinds of grammatical errors in FEC’s bulletin of sixth edition at STAIN Pamekasan and the factors that influence of the grammatical errors in FEC’s bulletin of sixth edition at STAIN Pamekasan.
This study will discuss about the theories that related to study. It involves with the supporting theories with data. They are Error analysis, Grammar and FEC bulletin.
In the process of composing this thesis, the researcher uses qualitative approach which is designed descriptively by using content analysis. The subject of this research is FEC Bulletin. The kind of this research is content analysis because it is going to analyze the textbooks, specifically the grammatical errors in FEC bulettin of sixth edition. Meanwhile, about content analysis argued by Krippendorff in KhalifatulUmmah’s thesis, Krippendorff said that content analysis is research technique for making replicable and valid in inferences from texts (or other meaningful matter) to the context of their use. Researcher likes to use the content analysis research because the goal of this research is to analyzing the grammatical error that is fec bulletin at sixth edition.
In this study, the data was FEC’s Bulletin of Sixth Edition at STAIN Pamekasan. Fun English Club (FEC) is the community or group of students at the stage of Islamic college STAIN pamekasan. FEC’s Bulletin produces by one of group or community of English students in the stage of Islamic college (STAIN) Pamekasan. The content of FEC’s Bulletin consists of opinion, poem, humor, and quiz one. The researcher chooses writing in FEC’s Bulletin of Sixth Edition (27th September 2014) at STAIN Pamekasan because the writerof FEC’s Bulletin are English students in the State of Islamic College (STAIN) Pamekasan. So, theoretically the researcher has known how to make and to arrange good sentences and paragraph. Because of that, the research can be analyzed.
