Movie is one of media to communicate with other. Because actually, the authors do communication with the viewers indirectly through the actor and the actress. There are alot of authors who has self interest in making a movie. One of them is Rambo III movie. The author tries to persuade the viewers in order that the viewers think that Rambo (America) is the hero of this war.
In doing this research, researcher focuses to answer; 1)which dialogues on the script do contain persuasion , and 2) What kinds of persuasion techniques which are used on the script of Rambo Ill movie in Brett Lamb perspective. Then, the porposes of this research are; I ) to identify the dialogues on the script which are contain persuasion , and 2) to identify the kinds ofteclmiques which are used on the script of Rambo III movie in Brett Lamb perspective .
This research uses qualitative approach because the kind of data that will be produced is text, and kind of this research is content analysis. Content analysis emphasizes an integrated view of texts and their specific context. The procedure that is used by researcher to collect the data are docomentation and observation. The researcher uses documentationin collecting the data. The researcher copies the script as data that will make the observation easier. In observing the data, the researcher watches Rambo III movie as the data repeatedly to understand what the movie is about and to analyze the persuasion on the movie of Rambo III movie.
The result of this study shows that there are 42 dialogues which contain persuasion. And according to Brett Lamb, there are 25 techniques of persuasion. But the researcher find 15 of them in the Rambo III movie. These are adjectives, adverbs, analogy, attacts, bias, colloquial language, cliche, description, emotive language, euphemism, evidence, expert opinion, hyperbole, pun, and rhetorical question.
