Teaching technique is any activities in the class, include all tasks. Base on physiology book children has two periods of critical period, the first at 0-2 age and the second at 11-16 ages. The Use of several techniques are very important for teaching young leaner, to make them be pleasure and pay attention in study English lesson. Young learner attention is an important thing in this period because usually they have short attention span. Although the teaching learning is combined with playing, properly the young learners have to listen to the teacher explanation and follow the teaching learning process.
Based on this phenomenon , the teacher has the significant rules, included to get the young learner interest and attention through the technique that teacher used. Therefore, there are three principal issues that were analyzed in this research: The first is what kinds of teaching technique used by teacher to get the young learner attention at the sixth grade of elementary school Bugih 5?. And the second is how the teaching technique which is used by teacher to get young learner's attention?. And the last is how is the student respond on the technique that used by teacher?.
This research uses a qualitative approach with employed a descriptive design. While, the data collection procedures are obtained through observation, interview, and documentation. The source of the data was the English teacher and the subjects were the students of the six grade. Checking the data validity is conducted by member checking, triangulation, and documentation. Analyzing the data is carried out by data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.
The result of this study showed that various techniques used by teacher to get young learner attention are: collecting technique, recalling technique and describing technique.
Based on the result of this study, it is concluded that the teacher uses several techniques when he is teaching English to young learners to get their attention. So that, it is suggested for whom taken a hand in this young learner's education in order to improve and develop more creative technique that it can
make the student's leain.ing.is fun. so, they can enjoy the learning process well
