Writing is regarded as a productive skill aiming at assisting students in exprssing their idea written. While writing under pressure is a process of writing that 1s force to finish quickly .
. There are two problems statement in this study. The first is whether there is any effect of under pressure writing on students' writing skill at fourth semester students of English Teaching Learning Program at STAIN Pamekasan. The second is how significance the effect of under pressure writing on students' writing skill at fourth semester students of English Teaching Learning Program at STAIN Pamekasan is.
This study to know the effect of under pressure writing on students' writing skiU and to measure the effectiveness of under pressure writing on students' writing achievement at fourth semester students of English Teaching Learning Program at STAIN Pamekasan. This research is quantitative research and the design that is used in this study is pre-experimental design namely one group pretest posttest design, there are two kinds of variable namely independent and dependent variable. The independent variable (variable X) is the use of under pressure writing in making writing, while dependent variable (variable Y) is the students' writing achievement.
Population of this research is the fourth semester students in English Teaching Learning Program at STAIN Pamekasan. It consists of seven classes; these are A class, B class, C class, D class, E class, F class, and G class. The researcher uses cluster sampling and takes one class as sample by using lottery to choose it. The class is G class that consists of 24 students. Research instrument which are used are test and documentation. The obtained data from test was analyzed by using t-test fonnula.
T-value is lower than t-table either in 5%, or I% (5% = 2,06866 >
0,3975082) or (l% = 2,80734 > 0,3975082). The result showed that there is no effect of under pressure writing on students writing achievement at fourth semester students at STAIN Pamekasan and the significant of using under pressure writing on students writing achievement at fourth semester students at STA.IN Pamekasan is low. Theoretically statements above are supported by the
result of research.
Based on the result above, it is suggested for English teacher to motivate
the students 50 that the students can increase their capability in writing and also the teacher can create the situation that makes students interested to write although they have been given a specific time to finish their writing, so they can
