Literature is writings valued as works of art, especially novels, plays, and poems. It is used to describe written or spoken material. Every movie has a theme, because it is a central meaning of the story. It is much needed in a story so that every story certainly have theme. Movie is a simple way to entertain people because watching movie does not need a long time different with reading novel which is need a long time to finish.
Sacrifice is one action based on moral consciousness that honest and sincere. Sacrifice was done by sincere without profit, promise, transaction and any time needful. The researcher interested to observe about the main character's sacrifice caused by ice magic as the theme of frozen movie directed by Chris Buck.
There are two research focuses in this study. The first is how the main character's sacrifice caused by ice magic as the theme of frozen movie. The second is how the main character solves the problem s caused by ice magic in frozen movie.
This study applies qualitative, expressive and objective approach, because those approach suitable with this study. This research uses descriptive research to describe the result of research about the main character's sacrifice caused by ice magic as the theme of frozen movie directed by Chris Buck. The subject of the research is movie. While the object of the research is the main character's sacrifice caused by ice magic as the theme of frozen movie. The data are gotten from watching and understanding the movie about the main character's sacrifice caused by ice magic as the theme of frozen movie.
The result of this study show that the theme of this study includes in the theme of egoik. Continue the result of the main character's sacrifice that is caused by ice magic and how the main characters solve the problems that is caused by ice magic. Firstly, the main character that is Elsa allows her childhood with alone in her room to control her ice magic in order that not injured people around her. Secondly, Elsa goes away from her castle. For the next the main character solve the problems that caused by ice magic. The first, the main character encage in a room to control her magic for years. The second is the main character living alone in the mountain. The last is the main characters thawing the castle that caused by ice magic with the power of love.
Based on these result, it is suggested for the next researcher to conduct the similar research in better finding and give new information or new study related with literature
