English for Specific Purposes is study about English that focuses on the students' need which is suitable with their department. English for Specific Purposes focuses on studying and teaching specialized varieties of English, especially for the students at SMK. It is very importance to study for the students at SMK lo apply in the work field that suitable with their ability.
There are two research focuses in this research. The first, is the English book at the eleventh grade of tailoring department at SMKN 3 Parnekasan appropriate with the English for specific purposes materials? The second, how is the students· response of the English materials gi ven by the teacher at the eleventh grade of tailoring department at SMKN 3 Pamekasan?
The objecti ves of this research are to know whether English book at the eleventh grade of tailoring department at SMKN 3 Pamekasan appropriate with the English for specific purposes materials, and to know the students' response to the English materials given by the teacher at the eleventh grade of tailoring department at SMKN 3 Parnekasan.
This research uses qualitative approach with descriptive as the kind of research. The researcher conducted an observation, interview, documentation and analyzing the English hand book at eleventh grade of tailoring department at SMKN 3 Parnekasan in gathering the data.
The result of this research was really found by the researcher that the analysis of English for specific purposes materials in teaching of English at eleventh grade of tailoring department at SMKN 3 Parnekasan, the materials used are still general. The researcher only found some materials which are related with the tailoring department. Some materiai. ar approl>riate with English for specific pu rposes materials, because it is base .on tlie.students"need and appropriate with their department.
Based on the result of this research, to make the materials appropriate with the students' need, the teacher should deliver or develop the materials, the teachers should know about the students' skill. To know the students' skill, the teachers need an approach. The purpose of this approach is only to know the students' need. It is approved that the materials in the handbook are still general and need the other sources to make it perfect and more specific.
