AN ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS' ERROR ON GRAMMATICAL OF DEGREES OF COMPARISON IN TENTH GRADE OF FEMALE AT MA. AZ-UBAIR SUMBER AN\'AR TLANAKAN PAMEKASAN

The researcher wants to investigate the students' error in using Degrees of Comparison because the term of degrees of comparison is not well-known in madurese's students circle. It certainly makes the students feel difficult to comprehend degrees of comparison.
There are two problem statements in this study. The first one is what error made by in using degree of comparison at MA. Az-Zubair Sumber Anyar Tlanakan Pamekasan. The second one is what factors cause the students make error in using degrees of comparison at MA. Az-Zubair Sumber Anyar Tlanakan Pamekasan.
This study uses qualitative approach as research design and descriptive research as kind of research, data sources are English teacher and students of tenth grade, data collection procedures uses observation, interview and documentation, and validate accuracy of the findings uses technique triangulation, by observation, interview and documentation.
The result of this research showed errors in using degrees of comparison by students of MA. Az-Zubair Swnber Anyar Tlanakan Pamekasan. Most students do errors. The kinds of errors done by students are omission, double marking error, mis-formation error and archi-form error. There were types of errors which did not appear at all, such as regularization error, simple addition error, alternating form error and mis ordering error. Meanwhile, the result from the second research question is about the factors cause of students' error on degrees of comparison, it caused by intralingual, interlingual and context of learning.
It is suggested to the students, in order to grow their will more in learning and sharpening their English grammar, especially on degrees of comparison. Based on the level that is in MA. Az-Zubair also increases the grammatical by using various methods. The researcher hopes this study will not only be sorts of reading materials, but also it can be benchmark for the reader to practice English grammar. It is also suggested to the teacher of MA. Az-Zubair to develop the teaching and learning in grammar by various methods. It is suggested to the other researcher to select other focus which not only on gram1mµ·, but also other issues that are able to lead to have other perspective on'language.
